Druthers Brewing Company is a very new brewery, opening its doors in 2012 in Saratoga, NY. Clearly it was doing well because they decided to open up a second brewery in Albany, in May of 2015. Their Albany location is an 18,000 square foot building that used to be a warehouse that was built in 1901. It took them only a year of renovations to turn the old warehouse, into the beautiful brewery it has become. They even have enough room to hold special events.
Druthers Brewery is one that is a growing trend. It is what is known (at the moment) as a microbrewery. Basically what this means is that Druthers is a small, local brewery that does not have the capacity, or the drive (currently) to mass bottle and distribute. They keep their culture and their beer localized to a small surrounding area.
The brewery has a great selection of beers on tap, consisting of mostly their own creations along with one or two guest drafts. With the beers they make, they definitely enough of a selection and variation to peak any beer drinkers interest.
Not only does Druthers offer fantastic beer, (so I’ve been told) but they also offer a fantastic food menu. Now on this menu there is your average bar food such as burgers, fries, pizza, and their signature baked mac and cheese dishes which apparently is amazing. Not only do they have baked mac and cheese but they have loaded with amazing stuff like bacon, chicken and ranch mac and cheese. I haven’t got to try it yet, but when I do, I’ll be sure to share my opinion.
